Green in Our Practice

Our commitment to our community and our planet is our motivation for applying as many green principles into our practice as possible.  Following are just a few of the things we do to help keep our practice green. 

• Recyling:  We recycle all Paper, Plastic, Glass, Aluminum and Cardboard that is not considered medical waste. 

• Paperless Charts:  We have invested in a Practice Management software that greatly minimizes the amount of paper generated and retained in our patient and camper charts.

• Paperless Credit Card Transactions:  We have upgraded our software and process for handling credit card transactions to minimize the amount of paper, ink, and electricity used. 

• Eco-friendly and Biodegradable cleaners:  Unfortunately, there are few earth friendly and biodegradable products on the market that meet our strict requirements for cleaning and disinfecting our facility.  But, if they are available, we use them! 

• Recycled Mulch:  We use wood mulch in our pet common areas that is produced locally by various lawn and tree services.  Using this mulch diverts it from our landfills.

• High Efficiency Appliances:  We do a LOT of laundry here, and by using a high efficiency front loading washing machine, we are able to minimize the amount of water and energy we use.

• Energy Efficiency:  All of our exterior lighting have high efficiency bulbs AND are operated on a sensor system activated by darkness versus time of day.

• Recycled Products:  Whenever possible, we choose office supplies produced from recycled materials.
