Dentistry

Proper dental care is extremely important in dogs and cats.  Lack of attention to teeth and gums can lead to gingivitis, periodontitis, bone infection, dental abscess, and tooth loss.  Besides the unpleasant odor, oral disease is painful and can lead to disease in other parts of the body.

Our dental services include full oral assessments, teeth cleaning and tartar removal, polishing, dental X-rays, tooth extractions and restorations as well as oral surgery.

Dr. Altman has received advanced dental training from three board-certified veterinary dental specialists enabling us to offer such endodontic procedures as tooth restorations, vital pulpectomies and root canals.

Most dental procedures in dogs and cats require some level of anesthesia.  We utilize the safest available anesthetics during our dental and surgical procedures.  Using the most modern equipment, the patient's vital signs are monitored throughout the entire procedure.  Consistent with our emphasis on patient safety, our equipment and staff monitor your pet's:  exhaled carbon dioxide (one of the most valuable anesthetic parameters), inhaled Oxygen, core body temperature, blood pressure and electrocardiogram (EKG).
