Services
Because of the shorter lifespan of our pets, we stress the importance of semi-annual physical examinations. Thorough check-ups and preventive care can help alleviate serious health problems. We offer a wide range of veterinary services to keep your companions feeling their best:
Wellness and Preventative Care: Prevention is the best medicine. With regular wellness examinations, our medical team can assess your pet's overall health and potentially identify issues before they become serious problems. Wellness exams are recommended twice yearly.
Vaccines: We follow the recommendations of the American Animal Hospital Association ("AAHA") for our vaccination protocols. Our protocol is two-fold, with core vaccinations recommended for every pet and non-core vaccinations which are based on your pet's lifestyle. Whenever possible, we use non-adjuvanted vaccines which are safer for your pets.
Laboratory: Our in-house laboratory facilities provide for serum chemistry, hematology, serology, urinalysis and parasite testing. We also utilize commercial veterinary laboratories for specialized diagnostics and consultations.
Radiology Services: Our on-site, modern X-ray equipment provides high quality radiographs to aid in the quick diagnosis of many disorders.

Dental Care: Our dental services include full oral assessments, teeth cleaning and polishing, dental X-rays, tooth extractions and minor oral surgery. Dr. Altman and our medical staff have all received advanced dental training from board-certified veterinary dental specialists.
Surgical Services: Our fully-equipped surgical suite provides for the performance of a wide variety of surgical procedures, including routine and emergency procedures.
Anesthesia: We utilize the safest available anesthetics to provide an extra margin of safety, especially for our older or high-risk patients. Using the most modern equipment, the patient's vital signs are monitored during all anesthetic procedures.
Permanent identification: We offer implant microchip implantations, utilizing a safe and convenient ISO-compliant microchip system to help reunite pets with their owners.
Pharmacy: We maintain a complete inventory of pharmaceuticals, vitamins, shampoos, flea and tick control products and parasite preventatives to meet the needs of your pet. We also carry a full line of prescription diets.
Internal & External Parasite Control: We develop programs for the specific needs of your pet and your own particular environmental situation. We will review with you the best ways to control fleas, ticks, and other parasites in your house, in your yard and on your pet.
Dietary Counseling: We will provide guidance regarding your pet's nutritional needs for each life stage, including dietary requirements for growth, weight maintenance and performance.
Emergencies: Dr. Altman and our staff have extensive experience in handling emergency cases and we are prepared to handle any situation during our regular hospital hours. If the situation allows, we do prefer a phone call in advance so that we can be prepared for your arrival. When we are unavailable, we refer our clients to Wheat Ridge Animal Hospital, where there are also experienced emergency veterinarians and support staff available at any hour.
Stem Cell Therapy: Dr. Altman is certified and trained in the use of Vet-Stem Regenerative Cell Therapy.
Boarding & Daycare: We offer premier lodging for dogs & cats as well as fun-filled doggie daycare at our Mountain Adventure Camp & Pet Lodge.
