Our Team
Meet Casey Primmer McVey - Certified Veterinary Technician.
Casey is originally from Golden, but moved to Conifer about 6 years ago with her husband. She has 2 dogs, a very spoiled cat, and a spirited horse. She continually challenges herself to keep up with the latest techniques in veterinary medicine so that she can provide the very best care to all of our patients. Her and her husband are very active and take advantage of the great outdoors whenever they can by 4-wheeling, hiking, horseback riding, camping, snowmobiling, and snowshoeing. When you do find Casey indoors, she is probably curled up with a good mystery novel getting ideas for the book she hopes to write someday.
Meet Tonja Anderson - Veterinary Technician.
Tonja, a Louisiana native, began working in the veterinary field over ten years ago. She has honed her skills as a technician at hospitals in Louisiana, Colorado, and Chicago. After completing a bachelor's degree in English, Tonja realized her life's work was animal health, and is currently working on finishing her pre-requisites to begin applying for veterinary school. She enjoys long hikes, good books, and hound dogs. Tonja is a newlywed and lives with her husband (pictured with her), their three basset hounds and their Great Pyrenese in Evergreen.
Meet Melynda Accashian - Veterinary Technician Assistant.
Melynda's life-long love of animals (raising dogs, pigs, horses and mules her whole life!) led her to seek a career in the veterinary field. Before joining our team in November 2011, she gained experience in a very large emergency and specialty center in Denver, caring for critical and surgical patients. But as a native of Pine, CO and a graduate of Conifer High School, Melynda wanted to work with animals in her own neighborhood. Melynda is always laughing, giggling and lighting up our day with stories about her life and growing up with dogs, pigs, horses and mules in her house.
Meet Lydia Brown - Client Service Representative.
Lydia loves animals and people - and it's obvious whenever she's at work! She has lived in the Conifer area for the last several years, after growing up in Ohio where she attended Ohio State University and graduated with a degree in Animal Science. She is married, has 3 children, and an English Setter. She really enjoys living in Colorado and hiking with her dogs, reading, gardening, making jewelry and cards, or just relaxing with her husband.
Meet Julie Marble-White - Client Service Representative.
Julie grew up in Longmont, CO, and, although she's lived in a number of states, she keeps coming back to Colorado, living 10 years in Durango before moving to Conifer in 2008. Besides her husband, Tim, and four grand kids, Julie loves two things - animals and history. She has degrees in history and education, as well as schooling in veterinary technology. She has eight dogs and cats (yes, eight!): Labrador Retrievers, Chessie and Boomer; Jack Russell Terriers, Darby and Guinness; and a lab mix named Bentley. Cats are Nitters, Bagger and Snickers. She also loves reading murder mystery novels and watching or attending Colorado Rockies' games.
Meet Kristy Tolan - Client Service Representative, Camp Headquarters.
Many of our clients recognize Kristy from her extensive volunteer work with both the Evergreen Rodeo and the Evergreen Fire Department. As President of the Evergreen Rodeo Association for many years, she helped keep the rodeo spirit and summer parade tradition strong in our community. She also fights fires, working hard in her spare time to protect our neighbors!
Meet Matt Harkins - Camp Counselor.
Matt is an Evergreen native! He has tried to move away but the lure of the mountain lifestyle keeps bringing him back. He enjoys landscape and wildlife painting as well as sculpting. He loves animals and is passionate about providing care for them. In addition to all the pets he takes care of at work, he's got Tanner, a Yellow Lab and a cat of his own.
Meet Greg Devereaux - Camp Counselor.
Greg is our unofficial Head Camp Counselor. He has been at Mountain Adventure Camp & Pet Lodge for over three years, running our group camp most weekday mornings. Greg and his wife Karen are also proud pet parents to Harley & Inca, both gorgeous black labrador retrievers and Caley, their cat who makes all of the house rules.
Meet Renee Erb - Camp Counselor.
Renee loves taking care of dogs and getting to know the different breeds and their unique personalities! That's why she finds time to work with us in addition to her full-time job with the disabled, her volunteer commitments with HOBO Boxer Rescue, and being a mother to her 2 kids. She has boundless energy and also finds time to hike, watch movies and play with her own 4 boxers and any foster dogs in her care. Although she's lived in Evergreen for over 26 years, she is originally from Upstate New York and most of her family still lives on the East Coast.
Meet Liz Paup - Camp Counselor.
Liz was born and raised in and around Evergreen. When she was 15, she and her father moved to Arizona to take care of her grandparents. She graduated from high school there as the salutatorian with honors and went on to get an Associates degree in Psychology. She has three dogs - who are like her children - and treats every animal as if it were her own. Liz truly believes that there is no better therapy than having a dog (or two or three) in your life. Someday, she'd like to create some sort of rehabilitation program involoving dogs. Nothing warms a person's heart more than a wagging tail and big "puppy dog" eyes. At 25, Liz realized that there was no place like home and knew it was time to come back to Evergreen, so she headed back to Evergreen because once a mountain girl, always a mountain girl!!!
Meet Jonathan Marshall - Camp Counselor.
Stay tuned to learn more about Jonathan!
Meet Ellen Feller - Camp Counselor.
Ellen is a native New Yorker who graduated from Rutgers University with a degree in Communications. She is a Certified Software Quality Engineer and holds a professional background in software technology. After living on both the east coast and the west coast, Ellen relocated to Colorado in 1994 for the gorgeous scenery. Her deep sense of passion for helping homeless animals prompted her to join Intermountain Humane Society as a volunteer dog-walker in 2010 where she now serves on the Board of Directors. Ellen lives in Morrison with her husband and dog-walking partner, Bob, and shares her home with four rescued pooches. Ellen is a self-pronounced foodie who enjoys cooking, hiking, reading, and exploring Colorado with her husband and dogs.

Meet Elise Altman - Practice Manager.
Elise was born in New Jersey, but spent her life on the beaches of South Florida before moving to Atlanta to attend college. She lived and worked there until she and Dr. Altman discovered the beauty of Evergreen and moved here to take over the hospital in August, 2008.
Elise is both our Practice Manager and mom to Jordan Samuel (born March 2008). When she's not busy at the clinic or chasing Jordan around, you'll probably find her working with one of the many Evergreen area non-profit organizations that she volunteers for. Her #1 passion is in supporting the local community in any and every way possible!
